Community Rankings: Munich Ravens and Nordic Storm lead the debate before the EFA kickoff

Even before the inaugural European Football Alliance season officially begins, discussions about the league favorites are heating up across the European football community. Multiple media outlets and analysts have now released their final preseason power rankings for the first EFA season. Two teams especially continue to appear at the very top: the Munich Ravens and Nordic Storm.

The Foot Bowl crew revealed its final power rankings during its latest YouTube webshow and placed the Munich Ravens at number one entering the season. After reaching the semifinals last year and adding several major reinforcements during the offseason, Munich is now viewed by many as the most complete team in Europe.

The Foot Bowl preseason ranking:

  1. Munich Ravens
  2. Nordic Storm
  3. Paris Musketeers
  4. Frankfurt Galaxy
  5. Raiders Tirol
  6. Prague Lions

A nearly identical result came from “The European Football Network” on Instagram. The only difference was Nordic Storm taking over the top spot ahead of Munich.

One of the most detailed analyses was published by football analyst Matt Bressington on his own website. He also ranked the Munich Ravens first overall and pointed especially to the balance and depth of the roster.

“The Munich Ravens have it all: amazing homegrown talent, experienced all-star level imports, coaching staff, you name it, they have it,” Bressington wrote in his final preseason rankings.

According to Bressington, the additions of Louis Geyer and Justus Seelig further improved an already elite roster. After finishing last season with an 11-1 record, he even considers a perfect 10-0 season a realistic possibility for Munich.

Nordic Storm finished second in Bressington’s rankings. Despite some injury concerns from last season, the analyst still views the Scandinavian franchise as one of the most talented organizations in Europe.

“Nordic has all the talent,” Bressington wrote while especially praising the defensive back room of Nordic Storm.

The Paris Musketeers consistently appeared at number three across all rankings. Analysts especially highlighted the return of quarterback Zach Edwards, the overall team speed and the high level of French homegrown talent as major strengths.

Frankfurt Galaxy also landed fourth in all three rankings. At the same time, many observers consider Frankfurt one of the most difficult teams in the league to predict. Matt Bressington particularly pointed toward the mix of experienced European veterans and several new American imports surrounding quarterback Ethan Garbers.

Raiders Tirol and the Prague Lions complete the bottom two spots in all rankings. Nevertheless, both organizations are still viewed as dangerous underdogs capable of pulling off major upsets throughout the season. Especially the Prague Lions received praise for the development of their Czech homegrown core and the signing of quarterback Jaylon Henderson.

With every team facing each other twice during the regular season, many analysts expect an extremely competitive year across the EFA. And while the first rankings already created plenty of debate, the real answers will finally arrive once Week 1 kicks off.
