Ethan Garbers Named EFA Week 8 MVP
The fans have spoken: Frankfurt Galaxy quarterback Ethan Garbers has been voted the European Football Alliance Most Valuable Player for Week 8. Following his outstanding performance in Frankfurt’s crucial 31-24 road victory over the Paris Musketeers, Garbers becomes the second Galaxy player to earn the weekly MVP award this season after wide receiver Brevin Easton claimed the honor in Week 3.
The award is another milestone for the Galaxy signal caller. Garbers is only the third quarterback to be named EFA MVP during the league’s inaugural season. Before him, only Russell Tabor of the Munich Ravens in Week 1 and Jaylon Henderson of the Prague Lions in Week 7 received the honor.
Four Touchdowns Lead Frankfurt to a Statement Win
Garbers delivered one of his finest performances of the season against one of Frankfurt’s direct competitors in the race for the EFA BIG4 Semi Final Weekend.
The American quarterback completed 27 of 35 passes for 273 yards and four touchdowns, efficiently leading the Galaxy offense throughout the afternoon. He opened the game with a 70 yard touchdown drive capped by a scoring pass to Brevin Easton before responding calmly after Paris had taken a 13-7 lead.
Just before halftime, Garbers connected with Paul Kavadia Lenhardt to restore Frankfurt’s advantage. He then took complete control in the third quarter, throwing touchdown passes to Adria Botella Moreno and Tyler Foster as the Galaxy built a commanding 31-13 lead.
Although the Musketeers rallied late to cut the deficit to 31-24, Frankfurt recovered the onside kick and closed out a victory that moved the Galaxy into third place in the EFA standings. With four touchdown passes, outstanding efficiency, and complete command of the offense, Garbers delivered the most complete performance of his EFA career and played a pivotal role in one of Frankfurt’s biggest wins of the season.
Sy and Rimmler Earn Weekly Honors
Alongside Garbers’ MVP selection, the EFA also announced the remaining weekly awards. Paris Musketeers defensive lineman Mamadou Sy was named Defensive Player of the Week after recording three total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. Despite Paris falling short against Frankfurt, Sy was a constant disruptive force in the trenches and one of the standout defensive performers of the weekend.
Frankfurt Galaxy kicker Ryan Rimmler earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors. Rimmler converted his only field goal attempt and was a perfect 4 for 4 on extra points, providing valuable consistency as the Galaxy secured an important road victory.
