Frankfurt Galaxy Celebrates Important Home Victory

In front of 4,519 spectators at PSD Bank Arena, Frankfurt Galaxy secured an important victory in the European Football Alliance on Sunday. The German side defeated the Prague Lions 31-18 and improved its record to 2-3. For the visitors from the Czech Republic, the search for a first win of the season continues.

Galaxy Builds the Foundation Early

Frankfurt could hardly have asked for a better start. The defense forced the Lions to punt on their opening drive before the offense, led by quarterback Ethan Garbers, quickly found its rhythm. Running back Antony Marvyn Bouembe capped off the opening drive with a touchdown run to give the Galaxy a 7-0 lead.

The home team continued to build momentum. Garbers connected with wide receiver Normen Schumm for a 28-yard touchdown pass, extending the lead to 14-0 before the end of the first quarter. Frankfurt controlled the game early and immediately put the Prague Lions under pressure.

The visitors finally found an answer in the second quarter when quarterback Jaylon Henderson connected with William Patterson for a 46-yard touchdown pass. However, a missed extra point prevented Prague from closing the gap further.

Frankfurt responded immediately. Defensive back Mason Chambers produced one of the highlights of the afternoon, breaking free for a spectacular 32-yard touchdown run. Shortly before halftime, Adria Botella Moreno caught another touchdown pass from Ethan Garbers to increase the lead to 28-6 and give the Galaxy a comfortable advantage heading into the locker room.

Prague Fights Back

The Prague Lions showed character after halftime. Henderson found Matyáš Bílý for a 43-yard touchdown pass to bring the visitors back into the game. Later, running back Adam Žouželka capped off a long drive with a touchdown run of his own.

Suddenly, the deficit had been reduced to ten points and Prague regained hope. Frankfurt, however, remained composed. Ryan Rimmler converted an important field goal to extend the lead to 31-18.

The Lions still had an opportunity to make things interesting in the fourth quarter. Following a blocked punt, Prague took over deep inside Frankfurt territory. But the Galaxy defense stood firm and prevented any further points with a crucial stop near the goal line.

Important Win in the Playoff Race

With the victory, Frankfurt Galaxy strengthens its position in the race for the playoff spots. The German side impressed particularly in the first half with an efficient offensive performance and several key big plays. At the same time, the defense delivered when it mattered most and prevented the Prague Lions from completing their comeback attempt.

For the Prague Lions, the situation remains difficult. While the team showed significant improvement after halftime, it was once again unable to secure its first victory of the season. The Lions therefore remain winless in the 2026 campaign.

Frankfurt now turns its attention to a challenging road game against the Paris Musketeers, while the Prague Lions continue their search for their first win of the 2026 EFA season.
