Galaxy Shows Fight, But Ravens Hold On for Road Victory

The Munich Ravens improved to 2-0 in the European Football Alliance with a 45-26 road victory over Frankfurt Galaxy on Saturday night. In front of 4,581 fans at PSD Bank Arena, the Ravens built a commanding first-half lead before Frankfurt mounted an impressive comeback attempt after halftime.

The game could hardly have started better for Munich. On the opening kickoff, Bijon Harris returned the ball 98 yards for a touchdown, immediately putting the visitors in control. The Ravens continued to capitalize on their momentum, while Frankfurt struggled to find offensive consistency during the opening quarters.

By halftime, Munich had built a 31-13 advantage and appeared firmly on its way to another comfortable victory. With the Ravens controlling both sides of the ball, many observers already considered the contest all but decided.

However, Frankfurt emerged from the locker room with renewed energy.

Galaxy’s defense made key adjustments against the Ravens’ rushing attack and began creating more pressure on quarterback Russell Tabor. At the same time, the offense found its rhythm behind quarterback Ethan Garbers and wide receiver Brevin Easton, who became the focal point of the comeback effort.

A long touchdown connection between Garbers and Easton sparked life back into the stadium and gave Frankfurt renewed belief. Another scoring drive followed, suddenly turning what had looked like a blowout into a competitive football game.

Linebacker Sebastian Gauthier played a major role in the turnaround. His spectacular interception provided a significant momentum swing and energized both the sideline and the crowd.

Speaking with sideline reporter Marie Sommer after the game, Gauthier praised the team’s second-half adjustments.

“I think our coaches came in with a really good game plan for the second half. We had to stop the run and make some adjustments in pass defense, and I think we came out and did our job.”

Asked about his interception, Gauthier added:

“It felt great. Honestly, it was a crazy interception. I think I caught it somewhere between my helmet and my arm. I’m just happy I came away with it. It was definitely a momentum changer in the game.”

For several minutes, it appeared as if Galaxy might complete a remarkable comeback. Frankfurt repeatedly moved the ball into dangerous territory and forced Munich to keep its starters on the field much longer than expected.

Easton, one of the driving forces behind Frankfurt’s second-half surge, highlighted the team’s resilience following the loss.

“Honestly, I’d say my team needed to step up, and I knew I had to step up as well. A lot of guys answered the call today. We had some injuries and a rough start, but we tried to bring everything together in the second half. We came up a little short, but we’ll regroup. It’s a long season.”

Despite Frankfurt’s momentum, the Ravens consistently found answers whenever they were needed most. Key conversions, timely plays, and efficient execution prevented Galaxy from ever getting within one possession.

Even after the win, Munich Head Coach Kendral Ellison was not entirely satisfied with his team’s performance.

“From the outside, it looks like a lot of things are going right, but inside, there are still some things going wrong. We definitely kept them in it too long. We didn’t execute the way we wanted to overall, but we got the win. A lot of things went right, but we still didn’t play to the standard we want to play to. We just have to keep getting better.”

The final score reflected Munich’s strong first half and Frankfurt’s determined response after the break. While the Ravens leave Frankfurt with a perfect 2-0 record, Galaxy can take positives from a second-half performance that showcased both character and potential.

Frankfurt Galaxy will look to earn its first EFA victory next Saturday when it travels to Innsbruck to face the Raiders Tirol. The Munich Ravens, meanwhile, will remain on the road and visit the Paris Musketeers in one of the marquee matchups of Week 3.
