Galaxy takes revenge on Paris and jumps to third place

The Frankfurt Galaxy have firmly reentered the European Football Alliance playoff race. With a 31:24 road victory over the Paris Musketeers, the German side not only avenged its heartbreaking 21:20 season opening loss but also jumped past Paris into third place in the standings. With four regular season games remaining, the Galaxy now hold a strong position in the race for the EFA BIG4 Semi Final Weekend.

Paris Starts Fast, Frankfurt Responds

Frankfurt made the stronger start at Essonne Stadium. Quarterback Ethan Garbers capped a 70 yard opening drive with a touchdown pass to Brevin Easton, giving the visitors an early 7:0 lead. Paris answered almost immediately as Zach Edwards connected with Cheikhou Sow for a spectacular 50 yard touchdown. A missed extra point kept the Musketeers one point behind.

Early in the second quarter, the home team took its first lead of the afternoon. After a 73 yard completion to Yann Yaman, Edwards found Hugo Tekedam in the end zone to make it 13:7, putting the Musketeers in control.

Frankfurt refused to panic. Ryan Rimmler drilled a 46 yard field goal before Garbers completed a perfectly executed two minute drive by finding Paul Kavadia Lenhardt for a touchdown with just three seconds remaining in the half. The Galaxy headed into the locker room with a 17:13 advantage.

Galaxy Takes Control in the Third Quarter

The third quarter belonged entirely to Frankfurt. The Galaxy defense consistently pressured Zach Edwards, finishing the game with six sacks, while the offense continued to execute at a high level.

Garbers threw his third touchdown pass to Adria Botella Moreno before connecting with Tyler Foster just minutes later for another score. Within one quarter, Frankfurt had stretched its lead to 31:13 and appeared to have taken full control of the contest.

Musketeers Fight Until the Final Seconds

The Paris Musketeers refused to surrender. Quarterback Zach Edwards and wide receiver Yann Yaman sparked a late rally, moving the offense efficiently throughout the fourth quarter. Lokmen Nadjem caught a touchdown pass before Edwards added the two point conversion to cut the deficit to 31:21. With just over a minute remaining, Dean Faithfull added a 35 yard field goal to make it a one possession game at 31:24.

Paris attempted an onside kick to regain possession, but Frankfurt recovered the ball and drained the remaining time. The victory was officially sealed on the game’s final snap when Thiadric Hansen recovered a Musketeers fumble.

Kösling Sees the Best Version of His Team

For Frankfurt Head Coach Thomas Kösling, the victory meant much more than revenge against Paris.

“It wasn’t really about revenge. That’s behind us. It was simply because we played a really good football game. For the first time this season, all three phases performed. Offense, defense and special teams. We made very few mistakes,” Kösling told German broadcaster hr.

The Galaxy head coach was especially pleased with the team’s development.

“It makes me very proud. Our coordinators have done an outstanding job and now their work is paying off. I think today we saw the best version of the Galaxy this season,” Kösling said.

Despite the late comeback attempt by Paris, Kösling never felt his team had lost control.

“Of course it looks strange when they get closer in the fourth quarter. But we wanted to keep the clock running. We became a little more conservative and trusted our defense to do its job. I think we had the game under control.”

BIG4 Race Tightens

With their third win in the last four games, the Frankfurt Galaxy move into third place and strengthen their position in the race for the EFA BIG4 Semi Final Weekend. The Paris Musketeers, meanwhile, suffer an important setback. Despite an impressive late rally in front of their home crowd, they drop behind Frankfurt in the standings and now face increased pressure over the final four weeks of the regular season.

Frankfurt’s most complete performance of the season showed that the Galaxy are peaking at exactly the right time and have become one of the most dangerous teams in the European Football Alliance.
