Jaylen Clay Named EFA Week 5 MVP

The European Football Alliance has announced Frankfurt Galaxy defensive back Jaylen Clay as the Week 5 MVP. Following an outstanding performance against unbeaten Nordic Storm, Clay becomes only the second defensive player to receive the award during the inaugural EFA season.

In Copenhagen, Clay was one of the key reasons Frankfurt remained in contention until the final minutes. Facing one of the league’s most explosive offenses, the Galaxy defender delivered several impact plays, highlighted by a crucial interception of Nordic Storm quarterback Jadrian Clark. He also contributed multiple key tackles and helped limit the effectiveness of the Storm passing attack throughout the afternoon.

Frankfurt Continues MVP Dominance

Clay’s selection also highlights Frankfurt Galaxy’s remarkable presence in the weekly MVP race. With his award, Frankfurt has now produced the MVP in three of the first five weeks of the season.

The streak began in Week 3 when wide receiver Brevin Easton earned MVP honors after his standout performance against the Munich Ravens. In Week 4, defensive lineman Chris Mulumba took home the award after recording four sacks, a tackle for loss, and a safety against the Raiders Tirol. Now Jaylen Clay adds his name to that growing list.

Clay is also just the second defensive player to win the award, following teammate Chris Mulumba the previous week. That fact reflects the impressive rise of Frankfurt’s defense, which has become one of the league’s toughest units after a difficult start to the season.

Although the Galaxy fell just short in a 20-12 loss to Nordic Storm, Clay’s performance was impossible to ignore. His interception, physical play, and consistent impact throughout the game helped keep Frankfurt within striking distance against one of Europe’s top teams and earned him a well-deserved place in EFA history as the Week 5 MVP.
