Last Chance in Prague: Lions and Raiders Battle to Keep Playoff Dreams Alive
With only two weeks remaining in the European Football Alliance regular season, every game has become critical. Nowhere is that more evident than in Prague, where the fifth-place Prague Lions host the sixth-place Raiders Tirol in a matchup that could determine the fate of both teams’ seasons.
Separated by just one victory in the standings, both franchises still have a mathematical path to the EFA BIG4 Playoff Weekend. For the Raiders, however, the equation is simple. Lose, and the playoff dream is over.
Prague Looking to Build on Home Advantage
The Prague Lions enter Week 12 with a 2-6 record and know that only a victory will keep the pressure on Frankfurt Galaxy and the Paris Musketeers in the race for the final two playoff spots.
Although Prague suffered a heavy 48-12 defeat against the undefeated Munich Ravens before the bye week, the Lions remain confident after already proving they can compete with playoff contenders. Their dramatic 36-35 overtime victory over the Paris Musketeers showcased both the team’s resilience and its ability to deliver in the biggest moments.
Quarterback Jaylon Henderson continues to be one of the EFA’s most dangerous dual-threat players. His ability to extend plays with both his arm and his legs makes him one of the toughest quarterbacks to defend. He is supported by an explosive receiving duo in William Patterson and Matyáš Bílý, who have consistently produced big plays throughout the season.
With another home game ahead, Prague knows that a victory would set up a potentially decisive showdown with Frankfurt Galaxy on the final weekend of the regular season.
Raiders Arrive with Momentum and New Belief
Few teams enter Week 12 with more confidence than the Raiders Tirol. Before the bye week, the Austrian franchise produced the biggest upset of the season by defeating Frankfurt Galaxy 61-41 for its first victory of the year.
The arrival of quarterback Kenyatte Allen transformed the Raiders’ offense almost immediately. In his EFA debut, Allen completed 30 of 31 passes for 408 yards and accounted for four total touchdowns, earning Week 10 MVP honors and giving Tirol renewed belief heading into the final stretch of the season.
The Raiders also know they came within seconds of defeating Prague earlier this season. In one of the most entertaining games of the year, the Lions escaped Innsbruck with a dramatic 45-44 victory after scoring the game-winning points in the closing moments.
That memory provides additional motivation as Tirol looks to even the season series.
Win or Go Home
The playoff implications could hardly be greater.
A Prague victory would keep the Lions firmly alive in the race for the BIG4 while officially eliminating the Raiders from postseason contention.
For Tirol, there is no margin for error. Another loss would end the franchise’s playoff hopes, making Sunday’s game a true elimination contest. Only a victory allows the Raiders to carry their momentum into the final week and continue chasing what only a few weeks ago seemed impossible.
One of the Most Meaningful Games of the Season
While the battle at the top of the standings attracts plenty of attention, the showdown in Prague may ultimately prove just as significant.
Two teams, two playoff dreams, and no room for mistakes. With everything on the line, Prague Lions versus Raiders Tirol promises to be one of the most emotional and intense matchups of Week 12.
