Munich Ravens Become First Team to Clinch a BIG4 Playoff Spot

The Munich Ravens continue to set the standard in the European Football Alliance. With a 32-24 road victory over the Raiders Tirol, the league leaders improved to 6-0 and became the first team to officially qualify for the EFA BIG4 Semi Final Weekend. Although the Raiders mounted an impressive second-half comeback, the deficit proved too large to overcome.

Munich Controls the First Half

The visitors from Munich took control from the opening drive. While their first possession ended on a failed fourth-down attempt deep inside the red zone, quarterback Russell Tabor and the Ravens offense immediately established pressure on the Tirol defense.

After the Raiders failed to capitalize on their opening possession, Justus Seelig scored the game’s first touchdown to give Munich the lead. Jonata Loria answered with a field goal to cut the deficit to 6-3, but from that point on, the Munich Ravens dictated the pace of the game.

Touchdowns by Malik Stanley, Konstantin Stricker, and Marvin Rutsch helped the visitors build a commanding 26-3 halftime advantage. Munich’s defense also continued its outstanding form, repeatedly forcing the Raiders into difficult situations. An interception by Bijon Harris ended one of Tirol’s most promising drives of the first half.

Raiders Tirol Show Character

The game became much more defensive after halftime before the Raiders finally found some offensive rhythm late in the third quarter. Running back Tim Tonko scored a rushing touchdown to cut the deficit to 26-10 and spark the home team’s comeback attempt.

The Raiders refused to give up in the fourth quarter. Tonko added his second touchdown of the afternoon to bring Tirol even closer. However, the Munich Ravens always had an answer. Backup quarterback Lewin Adrom restored a comfortable lead with a rushing touchdown midway through the final period.

A long touchdown run by Toni Rabensteiner, followed by a successful two-point conversion, pulled the Raiders back within 32-24, but time ultimately ran out before the home side could complete the comeback.

First Playoff Spot Secured

With the victory, Munich improves to 6-0 and officially becomes the first franchise to qualify for the EFA BIG4 Semi Final Weekend. The Bavarian club also strengthens its hold on first place in the standings and further establishes itself as one of the leading favorites to reach the inaugural EFA Championship Game.

For the Raiders Tirol, the difficult season continues. Despite suffering a sixth consecutive defeat, Head Coach Shuan Fatah’s team displayed resilience after halftime and delivered another encouraging performance that provides optimism heading into the remainder of the season.
