Nordic Storm opens season with home victory over the Prague Lions

Nordic Storm made a strong statement in the first EFA game in franchise history. In front of their home crowd, the Scandinavian team controlled the Prague Lions for large stretches of the game and secured a convincing 47:13 victory. Especially the offense around quarterback Jadrian Clark already looked highly explosive early in the new season. For both organizations, it was also the very first game in the new European Football Alliance.

Right from the opening drive, the game’s direction became clear. Jadrian Clark moved Nordic Storm down the field with precision and quickly connected with Brendan Beaulieu for the first touchdown of the evening. Only moments later, Storm extended the lead to 14:0 with Beaulieu once again finding the end zone. The Lions struggled heavily to contain the explosive plays of the home team.

While Prague never really found offensive rhythm, Nordic Storm controlled the game on both lines of scrimmage. The defense constantly pressured Lions quarterback Jaylon Henderson and forced multiple negative plays as well as turnovers. At the same time, running back Glen Toonga dominated the ground game with physical runs and important first downs.

In the second quarter, Nordic Storm continued to pull away. Glen Toonga scored his first touchdown of the night before Jadrian Clark later connected with Lucas Mortensen in the end zone. What stood out most was the versatility of the offense. Clark distributed the football to multiple receivers and consistently attacked weaknesses in the Prague defense. The Lions managed to score shortly before halftime through a rushing touchdown by Jaylon Henderson, but Nordic Storm still entered the break with a comfortable 28:7 lead.

After halftime, the matchup became completely one sided. Prague committed additional mistakes, including an interception thrown by Jaylon Henderson to Mitchel Fettig. Nordic Storm took full advantage of the short fields. Brendan Beaulieu caught his third touchdown of the game, Glen Toonga added another score, and explosive plays from Edvin Taborda continuously generated huge chunks of yardage. Nordic Storm scored 19 points in the third quarter alone and effectively ended the game early.

In the final quarter, Nordic Storm noticeably slowed the pace and rotated parts of the offense, but the defense remained dominant. Especially the pass rush unit continued to make life difficult for Henderson. Bastian Laugesen delivered another highlight with a sack fumble and recovery. Prague only managed some late consolation points through another rushing touchdown by Henderson.

Jadrian Clark especially impressed in his debut as the clear leader of the offense. The quarterback played efficiently, calmly and with outstanding precision. Brendan Beaulieu quickly became his favorite target and finished the game with multiple touchdowns. At the same time, Glen Toonga once again showed why he is considered one of the most explosive running backs in European football.

For Nordic Storm, the opening victory immediately sent a message to the rest of the new EFA. The team already looked well organized, physical and nearly unstoppable offensively in its first game of the new league. Prague meanwhile exposed major issues especially in pass protection and defensive consistency.
