Nordic Storm Overpowers Ravens and Secures No. 1 Seed

Nordic Storm has finished the European Football Alliance regular season with a statement. In a matchup between the league’s two best teams, Storm defeated the Munich Ravens 55:7 and secured first place after the regular season. Munich suffered its first loss of the season after nine victories, although under special circumstances. Head Coach Kendral Ellison rested numerous key players ahead of the upcoming BIG4 Playoffs.

Among those who did not take the field were quarterback Russell Tabor, wide receiver Louis Geyer, running back Justus Seelig, as well as several defensive starters. Instead, numerous players from the second string were given their opportunity. Nordic Storm, meanwhile, fielded its top players and consistently took advantage of the difference from the very beginning.

Storm Decides the Game Early

Nordic Storm set the course for victory in the first quarter. Quarterback Jadrian Clark opened the scoring with a 28 yard touchdown pass to Roberto Miranda. After an early Ravens turnover, Glen Toonga increased the lead to 14:0 from one yard out before Morgan Boney made it 21:0 later in the first quarter.

Munich continued to struggle to find answers for the explosive offense of the home team. Edvin Almeida scored on a 63 yard touchdown to make it 28:0 before Clark found Brendan Beaulieu for 62 yards. Before halftime, the Storm quarterback connected with Toonga for another touchdown.

At halftime, the score was already 42:0.

Clark Throws Seven Touchdown Passes

Jadrian Clark in particular delivered an exceptional performance. The Nordic Storm quarterback completed 25 of his 30 passes for 437 yards and seven touchdowns without throwing a single interception. Storm produced 558 total yards of offense and averaged 10.1 yards per play.

Brendan Beaulieu was Clark’s most productive receiver with nine receptions for 162 yards and two touchdowns. Jakob Green finished with 110 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Glen Toonga added 84 rushing yards and another score in addition to his receiving touchdown.

Storm remained relentless after halftime. Clark found Green for 68 yards to make it 49:0 before Beaulieu added his second touchdown of the day to increase the lead to 55:0.

Ravens Deliberately Turn to Their Second String

For Munich, the game was unusual, particularly with the upcoming playoffs in mind. The Ravens had already secured their place in the BIG4 and deliberately decided to rest a large number of their starters. Players who had received significantly less playing time during the season were instead given the opportunity to prove themselves under game conditions.

Head Coach Kendral Ellison explained after the game that the decision had by no means been an easy one. The possibility of completing a perfect regular season with ten victories had certainly played a role. At the same time, the Ravens felt it was important to look beyond this individual game.

“Of course, everybody wants to go 10:0 and stay undefeated. But I always say that you have to see the forest for the trees.”

For the Ravens, the result did not change their already secured place in the BIG4. The priority was therefore to manage the workload of their key players ahead of the semifinal while also providing other players with valuable playing time.

Tiavaasue Scores Munich’s Only Touchdown

Offensively, the newly assembled Ravens lineup struggled. Quarterback Levin Adrom completed eleven of his 21 passes for 65 yards, was sacked four times, and Munich finished with only 179 total yards. Nordic Storm, by comparison, produced 558 yards.

Nevertheless, Munich had a positive moment late in the game. Ron Tiavaasue, who had joined the team only a few weeks earlier, was used extensively at running back and led the Ravens with 50 rushing yards. A 40 yard run took Munich deep into Storm territory in the fourth quarter before Tiavaasue finished the drive himself with a one yard touchdown to make the final score 55:7.

The enthusiastic reaction from the Ravens players showed how much the moment meant within the team. Ellison emphasized exactly that aspect after the game:

“Seeing those guys score means more to us than anything else.”

Storm Claims No. 1 Seed, Ravens Lose for the First Time

For Nordic Storm, the convincing victory is the perfect conclusion to a strong regular season. After the narrow 34:37 loss in the first meeting with Munich, Storm responded emphatically and finishes the regular season with a 9:1 record as the No. 1 seed. The Ravens also finish at 9:1 but suffer their first defeat after opening the season with nine consecutive victories.

How much the 55:7 result tells us about the upcoming playoffs remains unclear due to the large number of Munich starters who were rested. By the time the BIG4 begins in Frankfurt, the Ravens will take the field with a significantly different lineup.

For both teams, a new season now begins. Just one more victory separates Nordic Storm and the Munich Ravens from the EFA Championship Game.
