Nordic Storm Return to Winning Ways and Make EFA History

Following their first loss of the season and a bye week, Nordic Storm returned to the win column in impressive fashion. The European Football Alliance’s second place team defeated the Raiders Tirol 40:14 on the road in Week 9, remaining firmly in pursuit of the still unbeaten Munich Ravens.

For the Raiders Tirol, meanwhile, a difficult season continued. Despite a spirited third quarter comeback attempt, the Austrian side remains without a victory after seven games in the inaugural EFA season.

Pick Six Sets the Tone Before Halftime

The home team opened the game with confidence and moved the ball effectively on its opening possession. However, the drive produced no points. Nordic Storm was far more efficient on its first opportunity, as running back Glen Toonga capped the opening drive with a rushing touchdown to give the visitors the early lead.

The decisive moment of the first half came shortly afterward. The Raiders had driven deep into Storm territory before defensive back Macéo Beard Aigret intercepted a pass from Steven Krajewski and returned it the length of the field for a pick six. Instead of cutting into the deficit, Tirol suddenly found itself trailing by two touchdowns.

Although Jonas Fuschelberger answered with an interception for the Raiders defense later in the quarter, the offense was once again unable to capitalize. Nordic Storm continued to take advantage of its opportunities, with quarterback Jadrian Clark finding Roberto Miranda for two touchdown passes before halftime to extend the lead to 27:0.

Raiders Show Fight After the Break

The Raiders responded with renewed energy after halftime. Jakob Scheucher forced a fumble on the kickoff return, which Lorenz Kriwak recovered to give Tirol excellent field position. Just a few plays later, Krajewski connected with running back Tim Tonko for the home team’s first touchdown of the evening.

After forcing Nordic Storm into a quick punt, the Raiders produced another highlight as Aaron Jackson made a spectacular reception to move the offense deep into Storm territory once again. Tim Tonko finished the drive with his second touchdown of the game, cutting the deficit to 27:14 and briefly reigniting hopes inside Tivoli Stadium.

Nordic Storm, however, responded like a true championship contender. Jadrian Clark calmly led another scoring drive before finding Edvin Almeida for another touchdown. A failed fourth down attempt by the Raiders later ended any realistic comeback hopes before Almeida added his second touchdown reception of the evening to seal the 40:14 victory.

Brendan Beaulieu Makes EFA History

In addition to the convincing road win, Nordic Storm celebrated a historic milestone for the young league.

Wide receiver Brendan Beaulieu became the first player in European Football Alliance history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a single season. The American once again served as one of Jadrian Clark’s primary targets, further underlining his status as one of the league’s premier offensive playmakers.

With Jadrian Clark once again directing the offense efficiently, Roberto Miranda and Edvin Almeida each catching two touchdown passes, and a defense that set the tone early with a pick six, Nordic Storm returned from its bye week in outstanding form and reinforced its ambitions of reaching the EFA Championship Game.
