Prague Lions Claim First Victory in EFA Thriller

The Prague Lions have finally done it. In what may have been the most spectacular game of the inaugural European Football Alliance season so far, the Czech side secured its first victory with a dramatic 45-44 road win over the Raiders Tirol. The fourth quarter turned into a true offensive shootout, producing an incredible 49 points. Matyáš Bílý ultimately delivered the game-winning touchdown with just three seconds remaining to hand the Lions a memorable victory.

Early Turnovers Give Prague the Advantage

Both teams entered the game fully aware of its importance. The Raiders and the Prague Lions both arrived with 0-5 records and desperately needed their first win of the season.

The visitors made the stronger start. A field goal gave Prague an early 3-0 lead before the defense delivered the first major highlight of the afternoon. Aleksandar Borković intercepted a pass from Raiders quarterback Steven Krajewski and returned it for a pick-six. After the successful extra point, the Lions had built a 10-0 advantage.

The Raiders responded before halftime. Adrian Platzgummer caught his first EFA touchdown of the season, and shortly afterward Lukas Haslwanter capped off a long run by giving Tirol its first lead of the game. However, Prague answered immediately before the break as Jaylon Henderson escaped the pass rush and connected with Dawid Luksan for a touchdown, sending the Lions into halftime with a narrow 17-13 lead.

Offensive Fireworks After Halftime

The second half remained just as competitive. A forced fumble briefly gave the Raiders new momentum, but Henderson answered with a rushing touchdown of his own to extend Prague’s lead to 24-16.

The game then exploded in the fourth quarter. Felix Kantner’s spectacular deep reception put the Raiders back into scoring position before Tim Tonko found the end zone and a successful two-point conversion tied the game at 24-24.

Moments later, Tirol completed the comeback. Steven Krajewski found J’Kalon Carter deep downfield, and the receiver outran the defense for a 31-24 lead. But the Lions answered immediately. William Patterson turned a short pass from Henderson into a long touchdown, tying the game once again only a few plays later.

What followed was one of the most remarkable fourth quarters of the young EFA season. Tim Tonko gave the Raiders another lead before Radim Kalous responded with another explosive touchdown to make it 38-38. Just over two minutes from the end, J’Kalon Carter appeared to have won the game for Tirol with his second touchdown of the afternoon. However, the missed extra point left the door open for Prague.

Bílý Delivers the Winner

With only seconds remaining, Jaylon Henderson led one final drive down the field. With six seconds left on the clock, the Lions had one final opportunity from the Raiders’ five-yard line.

Henderson kept his composure and found Matyáš Bílý in the corner of the end zone. The receiver secured the difficult catch despite tight coverage to tie the game. Marek Hruboň then calmly converted the extra point to give Prague a dramatic 45-44 lead.

The Raiders had one final Hail Mary attempt, but it ended in another interception, sealing the Prague Lions’ first victory of the season.

While Prague finally celebrated its long-awaited breakthrough, the Raiders Tirol were left heartbroken after yet another strong performance ended in a narrow defeat. For everyone inside Tivoli Stadium, the game will be remembered as one of the most spectacular contests in EFA history, featuring 89 total points and an astonishing 49 points in the fourth quarter alone.
